We also leverage our many XmAb technologies by engaging in multiple collaborations with leading global biopharmaceutical companies, including Novartis, Amgen and Genentech, among others. Including our partners, over a dozen XmAb drug candidates are advancing through clinical development, and the first antibody that incorporates an XmAb technology has been approved for commercial marketing in the United States.

This position will assist the senior IT staff in the day-to-day management of our IT systems and provide technical support for all company employees including onsite visits to our San Diego office.

The successful candidate will have a mature, work-oriented attitude with a positive outlook toward solving problems and providing help. Strong troubleshooting abilities and a deep interest in business-related technologies are a must. The candidate needs to be able to follow directions and complete all tasks in a timely and thorough manner, but also be able to work without extensive supervision and prioritize duties when necessary and knowing when to escalate if needed. The ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff is a necessity. Also required are a desire to accept challenges, continually learn, and expand both technical and non-technical skills. Integrity and honesty are essential.

Job Duties include:

  • Provide exemplary service, training and support for first-level end-user, software and hardware requests and problems
  • Provide onsite support with regularly scheduled trips to the San Diego office twice per month for technical break/fix issues and ongoing understanding of IT/business needs
  • Provision and deprovision end-user accounts, access-levels, software and hardware
  • Maintain and support both standard business and laboratory environments
  • Create, update, and review departmental procedures, support tickets, and knowledge base
  • Maintain software and hardware inventory
  • Help with assigned tasks for more critical projects and serve as a general backup to all higher-level IT staff
  • Plan and implement non-critical IT projects as assigned
  • Adhere to strict rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines in all IT related work
  • Keep up to date on company and IT related news and industries 
  • Keep up to date on IT related training as required
  • Rotational on-call coverage

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Experience in a regulated business environment/industry preferred
  • Basic understanding of Governance, Risk, Compliance, and/or Cybersecurity concepts preferred 
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in IT support, or equivalent education and/or training preferred
  • At least 2-3 years of experience with software and hardware research, recommendation, installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and support preferred
  • Strong functional knowledge of endpoint administration covering security, desktops, laptops, phones, printers/scanners, conference systems, and peripherals preferred
  • Strong functional knowledge of business applications including Microsoft Office
  • Basic knowledge of system administration covering security, hardware, software, updates, and backups  
  • Basic knowledge of network administration covering security, networking protocols, firewalls, routers, switches, and network appliances
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills working with the IT team, internal business units, partners, third-party vendors and regulators
  • • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Basic understanding of both technical and business aspects to problems and solutions
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Good attitude, approachability, aptitude, and coachability are highly desirable traits

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this position.

The physical demands of the office are normally association with extended amounts of time sitting and using office equipment, including a computer, keyboard and mouse, which can cause muscle strain. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. Periodic light lifting of supplies and materials may apply. Work is performed in an office environment.
